From ‘old school’ dry slope to snowy mount of Hemel Hempstead, this May Bank Holiday, the UK’s newest, indoor snowsports destination will celebrate it’s 4th Birthday.

Home to the closest real snow to London, The Snow Centre has fast become the greatest skiing, snowboarding and sledging revelry this side of the Alps. Since the centre re-opened 4 years ago with fresh snow on the impressive indoor slopes, over a million people have enjoyed the fantastic facilities and many more have made the alpine inspired centre the heart of their community. To mark the big day, The Snow Centre Team have laid on a Birthday Bash to remember, a weekend jam packed with snow fun!

A snow party like no other, all are welcome to enjoy free Birthday cake, piste basher rides, a treasure hunt, a summer ski, snowboard & boot sale and a mass balloon release with the chance to win some fantastic prizes. What’s more if you’ve ever wondered how the snow is made and the workings of such a fantastic leisure facility, now’s the time to gain a sneaky peak behind the scenes. With tons of snow hitting the slopes since 2009, this year’s birthday invitation boasts the opportunity to witness or even ski during the on slope snow making.

Saturday 4th – Monday 6th May offers 2 Hour Lift Passes for the price of 1 and 20% off pre booked Lift Passes on the well-groomed 160m main slope. First time Skiers and Snowboarders can make the most of half price Beginner Lessons on the largest lesson slope in the UK and families can spend some quality time on the snow with a Family Ski or Snowboard lesson for just £99 or a Monday Sledging Session for just £4.

The fun doesn’t end there, more than 95,000 hot chocolates have been enjoyed in The Snow centre’s Edge CafeBar and the Birthday Weekend is sure to see that number rise. Add FREE drinks in the on slope Schuss Bar and Heart FM joining the party for games, face painting and live competitions and 2013’s Birthday Bash will be one occasion not to miss.

During the past 4 years The Snow Centre has been recognised as the UK’s only Centre of Excellence by BASI (British Association of Snow Sport Instructors), with 250 schools visiting each year and instructors ageing from 18 to 70 the venue continues to offer a wide variety of ski and snowboard lessons, lift passes and sledging sessions all year round.
